The X-Files is a 2016 television miniseries,[nb 1] acting as a continuation of The X-Files, an American science fiction series which originally aired for nine seasons from 1993 to 2002 on Fox. The revival was announced on March 24, 2015 by Fox, who confirmed that a six-episode event series would be produced. The series premiered on January 24, 2016. Episodes marked with a double dagger () are episodes in the series' alien mythology arc.
